Plage Nord (Naturiste)
The northernmost nudist beach in Hossegor, on the border with Seignosse. Wild and unspoilt setting, sheltered by a wide dune belt. Unusually, swimming is supervised in season.
Accessible via a path through the dunes from the Boulevard du Front de Mer. Parking along the boulevard. Very peaceful and friendly atmosphere.
La Gravière
Europe's most renowned surf spot. Hosts the WSL World Surfing Championship every autumn. Powerful and spectacular waves, wild setting sheltered by high dunes.
Spectacular even without surfing — great for watching the pros from the dune. Less accessible for families (wide, high dune belt). Parking along the boulevard.
Plage Centrale Hossegor
Hossegor's iconic beach, at the heart of the resort. Beachside bars and terraces, surf vibes and sunset views over the ocean. Promenade lined with Basque-Landes villas.
The go-to spot for a sunset apéro. Very busy in July–August. Free parking along the Boulevard des Dunes.
Plage Sud Hossegor
Between Capbreton harbour and the Plage Centrale, a pleasant stretch of sand lined with a pedestrian promenade and beautiful houses. Surf schools and Club Mickey for children.
Continue the walk to Plage Notre-Dame in Capbreton and the Estacade — the view over the Passe du Boucarot is worth the detour.
Plage Notre-Dame
The northernmost beach in Capbreton, on the border with Hossegor. A beautiful stretch of sand in a quiet residential neighbourhood. Ideal green surf slope for beginners at low tide.
Less exposed to large swells than the southern beaches. Surf schools, beach volleyball, snack bar and tea room in summer. Parking nearby.
Plage de l'Estacade
Small golden sandy beach at the foot of the Estacade and Casino. Swimming possible at low tide. Views of the Pyrenees on clear days. The most sheltered beach in Capbreton.
Paradise for children and fishermen at low tide. Ideal for paddleboarding. Ice cream stand, toilets and restaurants right next door.
Plage Centrale de Capbreton
Capbreton's main beach, facing the town centre shops and restaurants. Sheltered from the swell, ideal for families. Handiplage-labelled with wheelchair access and Tiralo beach wheelchairs.
The most family-friendly beach in Capbreton. Beach clubs, showers, WC. Parking along the boulevard or at the Casino.
Plage du Prévent
Friendly family beach, a continuation of the Centrale. Calm atmosphere, a good spot for learning to surf. Wheelchair access with mat and Tiralo at the Santocha lifeguard post.
Shared lifeguard post with Santocha. Surf schools nearby, restaurants and snacks along the boulevard.
Plage du Santocha (La Savane)
Iconic beach with its graffiti-covered bunkers, a renowned surf spot between Hossegor and Capbreton. Filters big swells and catches small ones: ideal playground for surfing.
Less crowded than the Centrale. Its name comes from the Santocha Surf Club, founded in 1975. Free parking at Santocha. No bins on the beach: take your rubbish with you.
Plage de la Piste
Calm and unspoilt beach south of Capbreton, exposed to the swell. Magnificent views of the Pyrenees on one side and the bunkers on the other. Ideal for long walks.
For strong swimmers and experienced surfers only — strong currents. Wild atmosphere, few crowds.
Plage des Océanides
Capbreton's most unspoilt beach, surrounded by virgin dunes. A vast stretch of sand where it's easy to find solitude. Surf spot for experienced surfers.
Strong currents — always respect the supervised swimming zones. Perfect for long walks and sunset.
Plage des Chênes Lièges (Lac)
Family beach on the Hossegor marine lake, just 2 km from the ocean. Fine sand, calm waters at high tide. Paddleboard and kayak rental on site (La Pagaye).
Swimming possible at high tide only. Starting point for a lovely walk along the canal to the Estacade. Parking, toilets and restaurant nearby.
Plage Blanche (Lac)
Family lake beach, a continuation of the Chênes Lièges. Beach club for children (Club des Pingouins), paddleboard rental. Calm, shallow waters at high tide.
Ideal for young children. Swimming at high tide only. Small car park, snack bar and toilets.
